RONGHI – TERRANOVA FMPI: LET’S FIGHT THE HIGH ENERGY PRICE AND ASK EUROPE FOR HELP
It’s going to be a freezing winter if we don’t take immediate corrective action,” says Salvatore Ronghi Director General Fmpi (federation of medium and small businesses), “and that’s not petty demagoguery but an emergency with which to deal.
This morning, French Economy Minister Le Maire, made a very clear appeal to Europe: ‘if the cost of energy is not protected, small businesses and households will suffer serious damage.’
‘We have long argued,’ Ronghi continues, ‘that there is a need for an extraordinary European contribution to pay the bills and to address the announced economic emergency. What relieves us, however, is the advent of the new government and the active policies it has already put in place on this plan, and we are confident that solutions will be found soon.”
‘Now,’ continues Antonina Terranova President Fmpi, ‘we need to walk in the direction of aid to businesses and families and, also feeling close to the words of French Minister Le Maire, we must find every possible formula that goes in the direction of technological, economic and industrial development.
‘We are certain,’ Terranova concludes, ‘that in order to start this process, we need to be united in opposing the unfair competition from China, which, moreover, does not respect civil rights and exploits workers to the maximum.
